Look at how swollen her foot is!!
I had Tina put a sheet over Ginny, then I took Baby #1 out and put him in a little cat bed, followed by Tina gently rolling Ginny over in the sheet. Oddly, Ginny didn't even growl or hiss when Tina covered her, nor when I pulled her bandaged foot out of the sheet. She also didn't put her claws out, but then again, with the way it was, I wouldn't be surprised if it were just too painful for her to do that.
The bandage was REALLY on there. It took me about 5 minutes to cut it off and then unwrap it. I felt so bad for the poor girl.
After I was done, Tina slowly rolled Ginny back and then pulled the sheet away. Still, Ginny didn't get upset. I wonder if she knew we were helping her...?
I set a whimpering Baby #1 back in front of the bookshelf and we left the room. It took less than 20 seconds for Ginny to pick him up and settle him back in.
I called the ER and bitched them out. Then I asked them what I needed to watch out for with poor Ginny's ballooned paw.
"If she walks around, the swelling should go down," the vet tech said. "Look in on her in the morning. If she doesn't improve, we'll talk about you bringing her back in."
I brought Ginny a dish of wet food so it would lure her into walking out from the behind the bookshelf. I peeked in this morning to see how she was doing and it appears the swelling has diminished. Hopefully she'll be okay. She's been through enough as it is.
Last night we had our L Word Season 3 Finale party. In advance of everything that happened with Ginny, I had made mock photo albums with Photoshopped pictures for the guests. It highlighted "our favorite, but likely forgotten memories of Season 3."
I included pictures like these:
And of course, the group's favorite:
So it was a nice ending to a rather chaotic and stressful weekend.
I was so glad to have Tina home. She brought me flowers and a USA Hockey t-shirt. I nearly cried when she put her arms around me.
Her team didn't win their semi-finals game, but it was a very close, intense one with the final score being 2-1. But at least they made it that far and they all had a great time.
I start my own hockey adventures on April 17! Should be interesting...
