Then an interview at 3:00ish. This particular company is located far away and wanted to talk to me about becoming their MA based Account Manager. He truly has me sold on the position. Because of the snow, we had to move the interview to this week. However, the guy never called to confirm what time he was coming in exactly, just that he was arriving today. Duh!
So I called his office and no one can confirm that he's on his way... just that they were pretty sure he was on his way to Boston today. Double duh... starting to give me doubts on this place.
It's now 4:30... there could be a million reasons why I haven't heard, but they wouldn't be that bad if he had touched base with me to begin with.
Anyway, on a lighter note, tomorrow I meet with a webcasting co. to begin a freelance PR project. I'm supposed to meet the other owner of the co. and sign on. I'm VERY excited!! I'll be doing between 10 and 15 hours per week out of my home office.
So, why am I looking for employment in the first place? Because I got screwed by a very stupid company owned by three moronic brothers. Want to see just how bad? Look at their ridiculous website: www.expo-intl.com .
That website was put together from a blue print I drew for them. It was not supposed to look like that. Ick. I'm embarrassed for them.
Anyway, I was hired to be their Director of Marketing and PR. It started out well enough. Then after a month things suddenly got quiet. The CEO never spoke to me and my boss, the CFO who worked from home 3 days per week, didn't check in with me for 2 entire weeks!! He went from talking to me each and everyday to not even a hello.
My job flatlined. I pretty much saw the lay off coming about 2 weeks before it actually happened. I was supposed to have renamed and relaunched the company centered around their new software program. Well, apparently the CEO, who is one of 3 brother owners, did not consult with the other two. They freaked! It started this tremendous family feud. I'm not kidding. You should have heard the screaming and furniture banging behind closed doors.
So the launch was cancelled. There went my job. Who the Hell brings in a person to run a PR campaign without checking with all parties involved first?? Stupid stupid stupid. It pisses me off especially because the economy isn't so great right now, so finding an ideal job has been a total nightmare.
Anyway, that's that. Hopefully I'll be able to log back on here with something positive a little later...
