I usually hang out at the desk until my 6:00 a.m. appointments show up on a daily basis. Today was no different. Cara, the part-timer, looks at me and says, "You look really really good this morning. Why?"
She stepped back. Lately I've been wearing my hair in a ponytail because it's long enough, which is not terribly new. But she's right, there's been a couple of other differences that have slowly been happening.
"You've lost weight. You're wearing different shorts. And you're tan!"
Bingo. I finally busted out smaller, slightly shorter shorts because they fit. Plus the very slight, gradual tanning was starting to show.
"Yellow Bird, I have to say, you look really good. What have you been doing?"
Thanks to acupuncture for my allergies and the tanning, which is like sunlight, which boosts my moods, I've had more of a desire to exercise and less of one to eat compulsively. And now it was paying off. I was just surprised to have someone call me on it, especially at 5:40 a.m.
But I'm glad I've started to really pull out of my "dark place." It's less than pleasant and gets old after a while.
Finally. Now where's Spring? I'd like to go biking now...
