Anyway, it started off ordinary enough. 5 beers later a girl grabs my arm and says, "You're Kim, right?" I smiled and said, "No, everyone seems to confuse us."
Then she shook her head, "No, wait, I meant, you're Liz."
I got a better look at the girl. I was sure I'd never met her before. I said, "Yeah..."
Then I nearly spit out my drink as she said, "You're Susan's exgirlfriend. I'm Amanda, Sarah's sister."
Whoa! THAT was weird. Susan was my first girlfriend and Sarah is the girl Susan started dating after me.
I said, "Oh my GOD! I can't believe you recognized me! Wait, you're gay?!"
Holly was with me and gave me a quizzical look. I leaned in and said, "That's my exgirlfriend's new girlfriend's sister."
Gah! Even the statement sounded ridiculous to my own ears! Holly then says, "That's the girl Kim wanted you to meet..."
Double "gah!" Kim had mentioned meeting a girl she thought I would totally go for. How crazy!
I shook my head at the whole situation.
Then as the night progressed I met this cute blond girl. We chatted a bit, but then I learned two things that sent me running across the room faster than if I were told the building's on fire:
1- she just turned 20.
2- "the girl to my left is my ex. We kinda have issues whenever one of us meets someone else..."
I was outta there!
Drank some more, danced my ass off, met some cool people. At the very end of the night a girl came up to me, "I'm sorry, but I have to ask you. Have we met? I've been trying to place your face all night. I know I've seen you somewhere before..."
We tried to figure it out, but I knew it was a come-on. I've used that line myself in the past. So she gave me her number. I may call, she was cute and friendly.
Then Kim met up with a girl she met at another bar last week. The girl had some kind of connections, so we got invited to stay for an after-hours party. I hung out for a bit, but got tired and left at 4:00 a.m. And here I sit, munching on Twizzlers.
Earlier in the evening I had the best time with Liz's cats. The only ones in the world I don't seem to be allergic to! I laid on the floor with Lulu stretched on my stomach and Francis by my side.
I freaked when I first walked in because one of the screen windows had fallen out. But both cats heard me and came running, so I was quickly relieved to know that neither cat got out. I fixed the screen, cleaned up a bit of a mess one of the cats left on the carpet, and spent a relaxing hour petting Lulu and Francis. : )
Anyway, I'm still reeling from the "exgirlfriend's new girlfriend's sister" bit. How insane. But Susan and I are friends, so it's all good. I never got Amanda's number because I got caught up in other things. But I know where to find her. She's sweet, I'll have to give her a call.
Okay, it's now 4:45. I have a PT client in a few hours. TIME FOR BED!
