Snow...heavy at times. Storm total accumulation 18 to 30 inches. Very windy at times with considerable blowing and drifting snow. Highs near 30. Northwest winds 25 to 35 mph... gusting to 45 mph.
The service that is supposed to clear our driveway never showed, so I went out to take care of it myself. I shoveled all evening yesterday, but you'd never know it by the looks of things from this morning!
My PC monitor's pretty dark, so I don't know if you can see Mia, but she was loitering in the front foyer, mewing for me to shovel a path so that she could come out to play:
Our neighbor that shares the duplex with us was out shoveling this morning as well and apparently has the opposite front door problem that we do. Our door gets stuck and is a nightmare to open, while I guess their's blows open easily. I had left the main front door open so Mia could retreat into the foyer if she got too cold and wet. She pretty much hung out in the door way watching us shovel, but at one point she disappeared. I saw the neighbor's door open a crack, which meant Mia had gone inside.
The guy said not to worry about it, that his wife and mother-in-law loved cats. Still, how embarrassing. Not only did she go in, she went upstairs and hopped in bed. She was a hit! You'd think with the way she behaved with strangers that she was neglected and unloved at our house.
And here she is, clearly exhausted from her morning adventures.
Ugh. I've given up the fight for a while... the town keeps baracading my driveway and the wind is throwing the snow right back where I cleared it.
I can't believe it's 4 months until Spring starts.
