Gay Year's Eve

10... 9... 8... 7... 6... 5... 4... 3... 2... 1...


It could have been New Year's Eve at the Cambridge Court House. At the stroke of midnight everyone was in a frenzy. We sang, we cheered...

I am so glad I witnessed one of the most important events in human rights history. My friend Kim and I stayed until about 1:55 a.m.; watching ecstatic couple after couple emerge from the city hall. I'm hoarse from cheering so much!

And, of course, there were some fun people in the crowd. Like Miss Misery here:

This woman kept scolding the police officers because she felt insulted that they weren't smiling. It was so funny. "Your sour expression is a disgrace and completely disrespects the event..."

The guy just remained stoic. I wish I'd gotten a picture of it... oh well.

Anyway, I'm exhausted. There's no way I'm getting up in 2 hours for practice. Ugh.

Oh, by the way, Listen to NPR's "On Point" tomorrow evening at 7:00. I got the attorney from the law firm on for a 10 minute segment, followed by an awesome gay male couple Kim introduced me to. Woo Hoo!
