Today's Post is Brought to You by the Number 9...

After yesterday, there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that Tina and I are kindred spirits. She just returned from visiting her family in Alabama and wouldn't you know it, she found a cat. A very tiny, friendly black cat that is actually various shades of tiger striped browns and reds when in the sun.

Turns out her aunt fed the cat, but it actually belonged to her neighbors, who, like Gus across the street, was neglected for the most part.

Long story short, Tina brought the cat to a local vet to get checked out and not only did she test negative for disease, she turned out to be pregnant. So meet KC:

This photo is VERY deceiving... KC is only 5.6 pounds. She is TINY and supposedly full grown.

She is incredibly adaptable and traveled on the plane with Tina as carry-on baggage:

Yes, she went through the X-Ray screen. I was horrified.

She rode in my car as though she does it everyday:

Hello, boobs. I'm going to guess she's about 1.5 to 2 weeks away from labor.

When we got home, KC meowed her head off. She explored the whole house, yelled at most of the cats and got over it. The rest, however, have not gotten over her yet. There's a lot of low growling and whining going on and this morning no one would eat their breakfast until she went away. Talk about "odd girl out." But I really don't think KC cared.

As I watched everyone today it hit me. There are nine -NINE- cats in our house. All I could picture was the Count from Sesame Street...

"Nine... NINE Crazy Cats!! Ah Ah Ah Ah...'

... and then that Pinball Number Count song. (That link goes to the actual clip with music, in case you've forgotten it.)

I started imagining the song, but instead of the pinball, it looked like this:

" two three FOUR five six seven eight NINE ten eleven twe-e-e-e-lve...!"
