"I'm not fat anymore, but my friend is..."

My friend Anne and I watched the latest in the obnoxious Kirstie Alley/ Jenny Craig commercials where they now drag in poor Valerie Bertinelli:

Click on "Kirstie Introduces Valerie"

Okay first of all, the dialogue is so rude. "Hello, Jenny?" Kirstie says. "I'm not fat anymore, but my friend Valerie Bertinelli is..."

Geez. Talk about insulting. Is Valerie that hard up for work that she had to settle for such a self-degrading commercial?

Worse than the script are their outfits. News flash, Kirstie: Wearing black, tight dresses and binding your legs together does not de-fat you.

Nor does dressing Valerie Bertinelli like Grimace:

I guess I just don't see the appeal in having Kirstie represent Jenny Craig. Is she really that inspiring??
