Sleep, my friends, sleep is key!
Ugh. I have a cold. Right now it's in my sinuses and throat. At first I was worried that it was allergies. But then I woke up this morning and, sure enough, it's a cold. Blah. I knew this would happen again if I didn't get proper sleep. Argh. But there was nothing I could do.
At least it's Friday and the start of a long weekend... I'll get to sleeeeeeeep...! (AND play with my little Mia!!!)
Speaking of my little baby... I think she has adopted me as her Mommy officially. Last night she did two new things:
1- When we went to bed, rather than curl up in a ball on my bed next to me, then migrate closer to me throughout the night, as she typically does, she marched right onto my chest, purring. She laid down, facing me, continuing to purr. I looked at her, she looked at me, the purring getting louder. Then she rubbed noses with me, rubbed her head under my chin, and we dozed off with me holding her on my chest, her head under the left side of my chin.
2- Sometime later I woke up to a weird sensation. She was doing this weird sucking / chewing thing on my ear while purring. It tickled me awake, so I woke up laughing and startled at the same time. When I moved her away from my head, she did it again to my shirt. In my sleep stupor, I was pretty confused. What the heck was she doing?
Then as I grew more awake, I thought I'd figured it out. I had heard of this before, but it never occurred to me that it'd happen with Mia. She was trying to nurse on me. Poor thing.
G told me it's normal with young kittens, especially because she never had that with her own mother. It's a bonding thing.
Awwww. That made me sad and proud at the same time. Sad that Mia's real Mommy had left her (whether intentional or not, fact remains that Mia was orphaned), but proud that she regarded me as her protector / maternal figure.
I love my little Mia. : )
